Open to new work

Hi, I'm Salar

I build web and mobile products with React, Next.js, and Flutter, using AI-assisted and agentic development workflows to improve delivery speed, code quality, and developer efficiency.

Featured Projects

A few things I have worked on.

Ride-hailing, booking, education, and enterprise products that went beyond a demo.

Ride-Hailing Platform/Sweden

Hack Rides

A taxi platform for Sweden with separate Rider and Driver apps. It covers booking, driver operations, live trip updates, and in-trip communication.

Highlights

  • Split a large Flutter monolith into packages that were easier to work on.
  • Shared libraries between the Rider and Driver apps instead of maintaining duplicate code.
  • Moved live tracking from polling to WebSockets, reducing delay and server work.
  • Improved startup time and the ride flow in both apps.
  • Set up the app so it can be released under different company names, brands, logos, color themes, and custom configurations.

Technologies

  • Flutter
  • Riverpod
  • Firebase
  • WebSocket
  • Google Maps
  • Stripe

Salon Booking Platform/UAE

Flyksoft

A booking system with separate apps for clients, staff, and administrators. Scheduling, payments, and daily operations live in the same system.

Highlights

  • Created a shared UI library for four separate applications.
  • Automated releases with GitHub Actions so a commit could make its way to the stores.
  • Kept the apps separate without letting their common code drift apart.

Technologies

  • Flutter
  • Firebase
  • GitHub Actions
  • CI/CD
  • Modular Architecture

Language Learning Platform

Misalearn

An English learning platform that remains useful without a connection, then syncs progress when the learner is back online.

Highlights

  • Designed background sync and conflict handling for offline use.
  • Built a small markdown content engine for structured lessons.
  • Added quizzes and lesson flows used in regular study sessions.

Technologies

  • Flutter
  • Bloc
  • Firebase
  • SQLite
  • Offline-first Architecture

Experience

Where I have spent my time.

I started with Android and gradually took on larger Flutter products, shared systems, and distributed teams.

  1. Senior Flutter Developer

    Hack Rides

    2024 - Present

I lead development on ride-hailing apps used in Sweden, working on the architecture, the WebSocket migration, and the day-to-day developer experience. I also shaped the app so it can be flavorized and published under different company names, brands, logos, color themes, and custom configurations.

  2. Flutter Developer

    Flyksoft

    2023 - 2024

Built a four-app booking system with shared UI packages and automated releases, which made updates less repetitive and kept the apps more consistent.

  3. Flutter Developer

    Misalearn

    2022 - 2023

Worked on an offline-first language learning platform with a custom content engine, quizzes, and interactive lessons.

  4. Flutter Developer

    Taav System

    2021 - 2022

Built parts of enterprise ERP products, including responsive screens and reusable patterns shared across modules.

  5. Android Developer

    Independent / Various

    2018 - 2021

Built native Android apps for transportation, IoT, and productivity. That work eventually led me to Flutter and cross-platform development.

About

I care about how the whole thing fits together.

A little background.

I'm Salar Arabpour, founder of Salar Studio. I have spent eight years building software people use, including five years focused on Flutter, and I now work just as comfortably with React and Next.js.

I started with native Android, then moved to Flutter. Along the way I worked with startups and international teams in Sweden, the UAE, and elsewhere.

The interesting work was usually behind the screen: splitting large apps into modules, sharing packages between products, handling live updates, syncing offline data, and making releases less stressful.

These days I bring that experience to the web. The tools are different, but I still want the same things: code that is easy to pick up, interfaces that feel quick, and systems that do not become fragile as they grow.

What I Do

Where I can be useful.

I usually work on the parts that connect product decisions, system design, and the screens people use every day.

Frontend Development

Web applications with React and Next.js, from authentication and dashboards to the small interaction details that make them feel quick.

Mobile Development

Flutter apps for Android, iOS, and the web, organized so a new feature does not require a rewrite somewhere else.

Software Architecture

Package boundaries and shared foundations that make a growing codebase easier to change without surprising the rest of the team.

Performance Optimization

Profiling and structural fixes for apps that feel slow, with measurements to show whether a change actually helped.

Real-time Systems

WebSockets and live synchronization for products where waiting for the next refresh is frustrating or costly.

AI-Assisted Development

Agentic development workflows with OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor to accelerate implementation, refactoring, debugging, testing, codebase exploration, and developer productivity.

Case Study

Real-time communication built for the next order of scale.

A look at why the Rider and Driver apps were polling, what I changed, and how the shared WebSocket setup works. By separating generic connection logic from ride-hailing domain behavior, both apps could share one maintainable real-time foundation.

Remote-ready

Working well with people who are far away.

Most of my recent work has been with teams in other countries. I am used to different time zones, written updates, and carrying a feature from its first conversation through release.

I write down decisions, raise problems early, and give people enough context to keep moving without filling the calendar with meetings.

Timezone

GMT+3:00 (Istanbul, Türkiye)

Working hours

Flexible & overlap-friendly

English

Professional working proficiency

Work style

Steady progress, fewer meetings.

Written updates that make the current state obvious

A working rhythm that leaves room for time-zone differences

Pull requests and code reviews with useful context

Notes for setup, decisions, and handoffs

Ownership from the first task to the release

A willingness to fit into an existing codebase

Engineering Principles

How I think about the work.

Principles that outlast any framework version.

Build for Scale

Architecture should make the next feature cheaper, not the next refactor inevitable.

Keep It Maintainable

Readable code and honest abstractions survive team changes, framework shifts, and deadline pressure.

User Experience Matters

Performance, accessibility, and clarity are features, not polish you add at the end.

Learn Continuously

I moved from Android to Flutter to Next.js by choice. Curiosity is part of the job description.

Next Step

Let's Work Together

Scaling a Flutter product, launching a Next.js application, or untangling a codebase that's grown faster than its architecture. I'd like to hear about it.

Let's build software people enjoy using.
